Description:

Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant provides outreach and education for citizens to properly dispose of their pharmaceuticals. When disposed of improperly, the chemicals from these pharmaceuticals can enter our sewer system, causing damage to the water and sewer system. Providing education programs and outreach can help to inform citizens on how to reduce these effects.

Strengths:

Helps to prevent dangerous side effects from chemicals entering the sewer system and damaging water resources.

Weaknesses:

Costs money and time to create publications and programs.
